Example 1: This artifact is an annotated bibliography that I created for my Research in Educational Technology course (EDT885). It summarizes various scholarly articles about African Americans and the achievement gap, and culturally responsive education. The information gathered from this list of 20 articles was used to develop the literature review for my graduate capstone project. This artifact meets Goal 6 because it shows that I can conduct research about critical issues in education, and critically analyze it for my research purposes in order to create a summary of best findings. These findings eventually helped me to create a professional development opportunity, which is meant to educate teachers in my district on how to better serve our diverse student population and close the achievement gap.

This artifact is a roster from an optional iPad course offered by my school district, which I attended. During this professional development, I learned about the general iPad hardware, as well as how to use different apps for classroom learning and for collaborative purposes. This training was a day long, and the expectation was that we would take what we learned and use it for our daily business. This artifact meets Goal 1 because it shows that I am willing to participate in extra professional development opportunities outside of the normal school day in order to learn things that will better my teaching and enhance student learning.
